Community Grand Event
Meet Mark the Shark and the Mensch

** This event has been postponed. Mark Spitz is looking forward to joining the Wornick community at a future date, and sent the following message. Please stay tuned for a new date TBD.**

Hello, I'm Mark Spitz. And I was so looking forward to being with the Wornick Jewish Day School community on March 22 for the Community Grand Event. But given the recent issues globally with the Coronavirus, we all thought it might be better to come together at a healthier time for everyone. We're all very saddened about having to postpone, but as an athlete I had to face a number of setbacks in my career. But each time I was able to learn from the experience, overcome the obstacles and come back stronger. I can't wait for us to all be together after we've defeated this virus and celebrate in health and in happiness. In the meantime, stay safe and I'll see you all soon.

A HERO'S YOM יום

Join us for an inspiring event to celebrate our thriving Jewish day school community. We'll kick off the event with lunch and then a talk by nine-time Olympic swimming champion Mark Spitz. Mark will speak about his achievements including his resilience in the face of obstacles and his experience as a Jewish athlete at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games.

Kids activities include: sporting events, arts and crafts, and fun activities for younger children in TK-8. Mark’s talk will be appropriate for mature students in 5th grade and up. All students will have the chance to enter into a raffle to participate in a swimming competition. Winners will be presented a medal by Mark Spitz!
