Gesher Program (Extended Care)

Before and After School

Gesher is a Hebrew word for "bridge", as in "transition" from school to home.

Before School

Every morning, children who arrive early to school may come to the Gesher room for morning Gesher beginning at 7:30am. There is no cost for this care.

After School

After School Care operates from 3:30 pm (from 3:00 pm on Fridays) through 6:00 pm. (After 6:00 pm, late fees apply per the current Gesher contract.) It closes at 4:30 pm on days before holidays. It is also available on 12:00 pm dismissal days and during parent teacher conferences.

Our flexible Gesher program is designed for children who occasionally will stay after school to those children who require daily after school care. Children are given an opportunity to do their homework in a quiet atmosphere, play outdoors (weather permitting), and to play games in the Gesher space when their homework is completed. A snack is provided daily.

Gesher care is charged on a per hour basis. All parents sign an agreement through the FACTS student information system, that is filled out during enrollment/reenrollment.

2024-25 Fees

Hourly Rates

  • $16/hour for the first student
  • $14/hour for any additional sibling student

Late Fees: A late charge of $10/student will be charged for every 10 minutes any day that students’ pickup from Gesher occurs after 6 pm. This charge will be added to the next monthly payment.
