Head of School Search
On December 8, 2017, we announced that our beloved Head of School, Dr. Barbara Gereboff plans to retire in June 2019 after ten years at R.C. Wornick Jewish Day School. Barbara has led the Wornick Jewish Day School with exceptional wisdom, passion, thoughtfulness, commitment, and heart. Among her many outstanding achievements is her success in building Wornick as an academically progressive institution, one of the early independent schools to adopt a curriculum steeped in inter-disciplinary learning. Under Barbara’s leadership, Wornick has become a school known for developing engaged, resilient leaders.
Barbara will continue in her role as head of school through June 2019, and she is committed to a smooth leadership transition. Any communications to the Head of School should be directed to her through that date. In the next 18 months, she will be working closely with the Board to support and implement key strategic planning initiatives.
The Wornick Board of Trustees will now focus on finding a passionate and skilled leader who both appreciates and embodies Wornick’s mission and core values, and who will lead our school with vision and enthusiasm into the future. The search committee, led by Wornick parent and trustee, Limeng Stroh, will develop a plan to ensure a smooth transition. The committee and entire board are committed to a thoughtful, thorough and transparent process. Limeng and the committee will provide updates over the next eighteen months to provide for an informed process.

Search firm selected. We have engaged Dara Klarfeld and Tani Weissman from DRG SEARCH to run the Head of School search.

Conduct town halls, meetings and surveys with different stakeholders to gather community input and develop an opportunity statement (with job description)

DRG SEARCH will be visiting the campus on Apr 23-24, 2018. We will work with Dr Gereboff and Esther to schedule meetings with Administrators, Teachers, the Board and other Key Community Stakeholders. Additionally we will have two Town Halls for anyone interested in process. Parents, faculty, staff, trustees and community stakeholders are encouraged to attend.
The Town Halls are:
Apr 23 7:30-9 pm Town Hall Session I, to be held at the PJCC Board Room
Apr 24 8-9:30 am Town Hall Session II, to be held at the PJCC Board Room
