Elementary School (TK-5)

From Transitional Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, Wornick offers a supportive and engaging environment to learn, and a welcoming community for all. Questions and curiosity are valued, as students develop their skills in critical thinking, creativity, communication, and collaboration. Public speaking and project-based activities abound, with joyful learning happening throughout the school.

Small class sizes and small group work allow Wornick teachers to differentiate learning for students. With a focus on real world learning that is aligned with Common Core Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and Jewish ethics and values, Wornick students emerge prepared, confident, and empathetic leaders.

Second language learning is a critical part of the curriculum. Students learn Hebrew in grades TK-8. Spanish is introduced as part of the Sixth Grade elective wheel, and offered as an elective to Seventh and Eighth Grade.

Social emotional learning, as well as opportunities in music, art, performing, PE, and our Peleh Lab (Maker’s space) round out the curriculum.

Field trips are an integral piece of the TK-5 curriculum. Students' experiences can vary year to year and can range from the Kindergarten trip to the SPCA to deliver Tzedakah funds they have raised to help the animals to the Third Grade trip to learn about forces and motion at Levi Stadium. Overnight study trips begin with Fourth Graders traveling back to 1855 at Camp Tawonga to immerse themselves in the Gold Rush experience - they even dress like it’s 1855! The Fifth Graders embark on an overnight adventure to the Marin Headlands for five days of outdoor education.
