Book Fair Committee (10-20 volunteers)
The book fair will be held in Fall 2024. Members of this committee will help to coordinate setup and execution of the fair and work with teachers to organize class wish lists and help to market the book fair to the greater Wornick Community. A second, in person book fair may be planned for the spring if conditions allow, which may warrant additional in person volunteers.
Common Ground Speaker Series Representative (1-2 volunteers)
The representative(s) would need to attend monthly meetings during the school year as well as the speaker presentations (about 6 per year). The representative would also deliver the speaker banners to school. This role would probably fulfill about 15-20 hours. It is a great opportunity to meet other independent school community members and learn from fabulous speakers. If more than one representative, the representatives would coordinate with each other to ensure all of the duties are covered.
Community Engagement Committee (4-8 volunteers)
This committee coordinates activities to welcome new families as well as engage all families in the Wornick community.
Hot Lunch Volunteers (20 volunteers)
Volunteers needed for dedicated shifts/days per week to assist with preparation and distribution of hot lunch. Lunch service is 11:55am - 1:30pm. Shifts are weekly or every other week on a specified day. (eg: All Mondays). Please email Pam Bodin (pbodin@wornickjds.org) to sign up.
Parent/Teacher Socials Committee (2-5 volunteers)
The PTO will hold periodic coffee hour and parent/teacher social events. This committee will help to plan and organize these events, including brainstorming activities or themes and marketing the events to the greater Wornick community.
Peulot Chavurot Administrator (1-2 volunteers)
Peulot Chavurot are groups for Wornick parents, teachers, and staff and are focused on an activity of interest. In order to support the success of this program the Peulot Chavurot Administrator will assist with setup and communication across ALL groups as people join or have questions as well as set up new groups as needed. *Note if you only want to lead a specific chavurah, please use the Chavurot sign up page. This role serves an administrative role to facilitate smooth operation of the entire chavurot program.
Room Parents (2-3 per grade/class)
Each class has 2-3 designated room parent volunteers who facilitate communication between the school and parents. Room parents foster a sense of community within the class, support special celebrations and events for the class, and collaborate with teachers to provide support as needed.
Shabbat Dinner Committee (15-20 volunteers)

Our goal is to make an impact in the community and to teach our children to endeavor to help those that need it, and make the world a better place. Our children learn by example, and even the smallest of our community members can make a huge difference in the lives of others.
WornickFest (20-25 volunteers)
