Dear Parents,

We are so thankful that this year looks so different from last year! The campus is alive with music, academics, chavurot, sports, and on-campus, Covid-safe community events. Our entire professional community is grateful to the greater Wornick community for their vigilance in keeping our families, students, and teachers as safe as possible. There has been no evidence of community spread within our campus and we want to continue this trend through the holidays and into the new year.

As we rapidly approach the Thanksgiving and Winter breaks, we wanted to provide you with travel and gathering guidance from our Health and Safety Committee as well as best practices from the California Department of Health and the CDC. We understand that families may want to travel during the breaks or welcome loved ones into their homes during the holidays. We ask that all families follow protocols and best practices to keep our Wornick community as safe as possible.

We plan to return to school immediately following the Thanksgiving holiday and Winter break.

  • Instead of testing 50% of our community the week following thanksgiving, we will test our entire community. The following week (Dec 6-10) we will go back to testing 50% of our community each week.
  • During the upcoming breaks, please continue to observe best practices and common sense while outside of school. Please continue to have your family wear face masks while in public, wash hands frequently, and limit indoor exposure to unvaccinated individuals outside of your household.
  • If an unvaccinated student travels by air or via extended public transportation outside of the Bay area, per our Health and Safety Plan, the student must quarantine for 7 days following air travel (with a negative PCR test taken 3-5 days post travel) or 10 days following air travel (with no test). Asynchronous learning will not be available during travel time, but will be available during the required quarantine period. Fully vaccinated individuals do not have to quarantine post air travel, and their unvaccinated students/siblings who remained home and did not travel do not have to quarantine.
  • If a student is experiencing Covid-like symptoms following break, please notify the office and your student's teacher immediately. Asynchronous learning will be offered for symptomatic students.

As a reminder, our Health and Safety Plan is available at

As protocols and the current environment continue to evolve, we ask for your patience and understanding should policies change. We will update you should this happen.

We are grateful for the trust and accountability shown by our Wornick families and look forward to healthy and relaxing breaks for our community.

In partnership,
Adam Eilath
