Our Health and Safety Committee has created standards and protocols that were implemented before the start of the current school year. This was a requirement for reopening approval from San Mateo County and the State of California. These measures included smaller cohorts, remaining in their classroom, utilization of outdoor tents for cohorts, distancing protocol and enforcement, advanced cleaning throughout the day, HEPA filters in every room, required health screening survey daily, temperature checks before entering campus, etc. Please see up-to-date detailed Health and Safety Protocols.
Wornick also implemented mandatory COVID-19 testing for teachers, staff, and students. Teachers and staff take the test either weekly or bi-weekly. Families have the option to have their student tested at school, through your health provider, or through San Mateo County. Student testing is required every four weeks. Testing at the school is fully covered by Kaiser Permanente insurance. For all other insurance plans, the cost is $75 per test. Testing at San Mateo County sponsored venues is covered by all insurers or is free. Link to Student testing resources page.
