TK/Kindergarten
TK/Kindergarten at Wornick Jewish Day School
At Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School, our approach to TK/Kindergarten values questions and curiosity as students begin to develop their skills in critical thinking, creativity, and connection with others. Our approach prioritizes social emotional learning and project-based activities to create a joyful learning experience that sets students up for success now and in their educational journey to follow.
TK/KinderGardeners: How the Garden Blooms Students into Learners
We believe that the garden is more than a space for planting—it’s a vibrant outdoor classroom where students learn to see the world through multiple lenses: scientific inquiry, mathematical reasoning, artistic expression, and Jewish values. Learn more about our unique approach and bring this experience into your home using the guide below!
Project-Based Learning
Project Based Learning (PBL) is a teaching method where students acquire both knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge. Students grapple with real-world problems, and present their knowledge to an authentic audience.
Throughout the school year, TK/Kindergarteners use their outdoor garden to learn about the lifecycle of plants, observe the plants as they grow using math and science skills, and work together to maintain the garden. They also enjoy harvesting the plants to create salads and share with our school community.
