Jewish Studies Teacher
Located in Foster City, Ronald C Wornick Jewish Day School is a warm, welcoming, and vibrant TK-8th grade community school. Wornick Day School is seeking a Jewish Studies Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year to join our team and create powerful Jewish learning opportunities for our students.
The Jewish Studies Teacher will:
- Teach 4-5 sections of Jewish Studies classes in the Elementary School (Likely in the TK-5th grade age band)
- Work to develop curriculum with the support of the Director of Jewish Studies
- Work collaboratively with the Jewish Studies department to infuse holidays and the Jewish life cycle into the curriculum
- Differentiate appropriately for students with different learning styles and experience with Judaism and Jewish texts
- Support and lead Tefillah on a daily basis
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Assistant Head of School
- Attend all faculty and grade level meetings
- Participate in all school events including; open houses, student performances, back to school night, parent teacher conferences and similar events
- Serve on committees at school to improve school culture and support the professional community
- Regularly assess students and report home appropriately to parents on student progress
- Help develop a love of Torah, Jewish Learning, and Israel
The successful candidate will:
- Have a BA in Jewish Studies or have extensive Jewish learning experience (Yeshiva, Day School, Beit Midrash,etc.)
- Certifications in Project Based Learning or other progressive educational models are a plus!
- Have experience teaching Jewish texts to elementary aged students
- Have experience designing units of learning for students and assessing learning through a variety of methods
- Demonstrate an ability to make Jewish text, tradition, and history relevant to a diverse group of students and families
- Strong Hebrew skills are strongly preferred
- Be collaborative in nature and work well in teams to design curriculum, holiday programming, and school rituals with the Jewish Studies team
- Be able to receive feedback from supervisors and communicate effectively with administrators
- Have a proven track record of engaging with parents and families
- Have experience differentiating for a group of diverse learners
- Song leading/guitar playing a plus!

- A salary range between $70,000 and $92,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Lead Elementary School Teacher
Located in Foster City, Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a pluralistic community day school for students from TK through 8th grade. Wornick Day School is seeking an elementary school teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The teacher will serve as a lead teacher in our elementary school and will be responsible for teaching ELA, Social Studies, Math, and Science. We are seeking an experienced teacher who has knowledge of progressive educational environments.
The elementary school teacher will:
- Provide an instructional program based on the needs of each student
- Implement our school adopted programs as the base curriculum for the grade
- Design engaging curriculum that supports the base curriculum and meets the school’s guiding principles, including but not limited to Project Based Learning, design thinking, performance-based assessment
- Create and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and other teachers
- Differentiate effectively for diverse learners in the classroom

The ideal candidate will:
- Have 5+ years of classroom experience as a lead classroom teacher
- At a minimum have a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)
- Have a California Teaching Credential (preferred)
- Be familiar with progressive educational approaches (Project Based Learning, student centered classroom, flipped classroom etc)
- Experience with Google Classroom, G Suite, and other LMS a plus
- Have experience in lesson planning and curriculum design
- Possess a love of learning and a passion for engaging students
- Have experience differentiation for diverse classroom learners
- Be a collaborative team member who will seek advice from peers and rely on the professional expertise of our administrators and support services
- First aid/CPR a plus

Hebrew Teacher
Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School seeks full-time Hebrew Teachers to work at its school located in Foster City, CA.
Duties:
- Support the instruction of students in the Hebrew language daily, including vocabulary, language patterns, correct usage, and conversation.
- Teach songs, games, and stories in Hebrew, as well as the culture and religion of the people of Israel. Develop lessons to meet grade level standards.
- Ensure the differentiation based on student ability.
- Prepare multiple mode of instruction for different learners and advise teachers accordingly. Participate in school events.
- Communicate with parents as needed.
- Serve on committees to support learning, school culture, and professional community.
- Develop and teach ways to measure student Hebrew fluency.
