ASSIGNING POWS ON MS MATH WEBSITES
STEP 1: CREATE THE PDF
From mathforum.org:
- Find the POW you want to assign
- Click on Printable Version
- Go to File -> Print
- DON’T PRESS PRINT
- Choose PDF from the print dialog (bottom left button)
- Type an appropriate name…I choose powt2w4.pdf (pow term 2 week 4)…
- MAKE SURE TO HAVE THE .pdf
- Save it in Sites -> <YOUR MATH CLASS> -> work -> pows
From a paper document:
- Put the paper in the copy machine, as if you were going to copy it.
- On the main panel, choose Scanner (on the bottom left…see below)

- Choose your name from the display

- Press the green Start/Copy button – this will feed your paper through like it was copied.
- Click on the Copy button above the Scanner button to put it back in copy mode.
- Check your email
- The scanned document will be attached to an email sent from scanned_documents@wornickjds.org
- Open the attachment.
- Go to File -> Print
- DON’T PRESS PRINT
- Choose PDF from the print dialog (bottom left button)
- Type an appropriate name…I choose powt2w4.pdf (pow term 2 week 4)…
- MAKE SURE TO HAVE THE .pdf
- Save it in Sites -> <YOUR MATH CLASS> -> work -> pows
STEP 2: UPLOADING TO THE INTERNET
- Open Dreamweaver
- Double click on pow.html/cow.html in the folder list on the right
- Click to the RIGHT of the appropriate week # in the appropriate term
- i.e. for the 3rd POW of the 2nd Term, click to the RIGHT of the 3 in Week 3 under Term 2
- Hold down the shift key and press return
- Type in the due date
- Highlight everything in that cell – “Week 3 Due 12/15”
- In the folder list on the right, open the work folder and then the pows folder

- In the properties window at the bottom, in the links section, click on the TARGET and drag it to the pdf in the folder list that you would like to link to.
- In the folder list, click on pow.html/cow.html
- Click on the Site menu and choose Put
- In the folder list, click on the pow pdf you linked to
- Click on the Site menu and choose Put
- Quit Dreamweaver
STEP 3: VERIFY
- Visit your math website
- Click on the POW/COW section
- Click on the link for the current POW and make sure it is correct.
