Gesher is our After School Day Care program. Gesher begins at 2:00pm for
our kindergartners and at 3:30 for all other grades. On Fridays, Gesher
begins at 3:00 for grades one and above.
Children are given an opportunity to do their homework in a quiet
atmosphere, play outdoors (weather permitting), participate in the school's
after-school enrichment activities (including classes at the PJCC) and to
play games in the Gesher room when their homework is completed.
Gesher is available on a contract or on a drop-in basis.
'Gesher' is a Hebrew word for 'bridge', as in 'transition' from school to
home.
After School Enrichment Classes
For the 2006-2007 school year we are offering the following classes:
Art
Group Music
Private Piano
Cooking
Chess
Gymnastics
Fencing
Tennis
Violin
Science Adventures
Soccer
Most of the after-school classes are from 3:30-4:30.
Students do not have to be in Gesher in order to participate in our
after-school classes, however it's a convenience since they are held here at
Wornick.
Before School (Gesher) Program
Every morning, children who arrive early to school may come to Room #110, just past the School Office, for morning Gesher. This starts at 7:30 am and there is no fee for this care. We ask that if your child is on school grounds before 8:30 am, you either stay with your child or send him/her to Gesher. We do not allow students to be unsupervised on campus in the early morning hours.
