Alumni Success Stories

Elissa Test
"I always felt ready when I entered a new level of schooling — this may be because the Jewish Day School helped me to form a healthy and positive outlook on school and learning. The Jewish Day School fosters the notion that school can be fun, warm, exciting, full of singing voices, colorful artwork and thinking about big-picture ideas and values."
Class of 1996; Second of four family members to attend the Jewish Day School; Brandeis Hillel Middle School; Menlo School; Pre-Med at Stanford University; alto saxophone in the Stanford band; helped establish the Stanford chapter of Students Taking Action Now for Darfur.

Carly Leviant
"I really liked having small classes because it meant that I could get close to everyone and really know the teachers. I felt over-prepared when I arrived at public school. There were English classes in 6th and 7th grade that I took where we read books that I had read in third grade at the Jewish Day School."
Class of 2001; Central Middle School; Carlmont High School.

Jeremy Abelson
"I had a large group of friends in high school, but the only friends from the Bay Area I am still in contact with are those that went to the Jewish Day School. They also happen to be the most successful professionals."
Class of 1991; Borel Middle School; San Mateo High School; University of Michigan; founded Urban Hostess, a web based service that provides residential and professional concierge services to young professionals in New York, Chicago, D.C. and Boston.

Jason Reinin
"...because of the small class size and wonderful teachers, I was able to go in to middle school one step ahead.
I was not only ahead in the scholastic arena, but way beyond in the social arena."

Class of 1990; Taylor Middle School; Mills High School; B.S. in Chemistry from CalTech in 2004; Management Consultant in Los Angeles.

Adam Klein
"The best part about the Jewish Day School was the individual attention I got from having small class sizes. I also learned how to build strong relationships with people over the course of multiple years. It helped me get into the top middle school of my choice, where I was able to excel in several areas."
Class of 2002; Nueva School, where he developed the first student council; President of the freshman class at Burlingame High School; representative to the American Cancer Society Youth Council.

Class of 1993; 3rd in his family to attend the Day School; Mid Peninsula Jewish Day School; Menlo-Atherton High School; Stanford University, Fiction Writing.

Chad Liffmann
"I was very much prepared for subsequent schooling. In middle school and high school, I had no problem taking on the most challenging courses, due to the foundation for acquiring knowledge that the Jewish Day School had laid out for me."
