How to tell if your child is on track in reading?

In January, Wornick shared information about expectations for our students in math.  This month, courtesy of Great Schools, we are educating parents about what to expect in reading.  Reading is truly the cornerstone of all education - it impacts learning in every subject. From Words Their Way to phonics to book clubs to literature reviews in middle school, Wornick strives to bring out the best reader in every child, sparking their long term love of learning.

If you have specific questions about Wornick's reading curriculum or the progress of your child, please contact your child's teacher or Dr. Gereboff for a personal discussion.

Is your child on track in math?

Its difficult to set expectations of your child in mathematics. Too lenient and the child doesn't reach their potential.  Too stringent and the child is over-stressed.  We've found a series of articles on Great Schools that provides guidelines for math by grade.  If you have specific questions regarding your child and math, please contact your teacher or the Principal for a personal discussion.
