Jason Scatena - Athletic Director

Cross Country / Distance Running

Coach Scatena is a USATF certified coach with over 20 years of multi-sport experience as both a coach and an athletic administrator.

Coach Scatena has coached at both the middle and secondary level, training runners of all ages and abilities to compete on trail, track, and road.  He believes that a successful program begins with coaches that provide a holistic, communication-based approach, that promotes a successful environment for both the student and the team. 



Josh Ortman - Assistant Athletic Director

Basketball / Soccer

Coach Ortman brings over 10 years of experience as a coach and player to Wornick.  

While involved in middle and secondary athletics, Coach Ortman has earned multiple honers and achieved milestones throughout his career in basketball and soccer.  His philosophy of sportsmanship and respect has brought success to the Wornick athletic program, students, and community.

 


Ray Decker

Cross Country / Distance Running

Coach Decker has been coaching Wornick Cross-Country and distance running for over 5 years.

With over 30 years of running experience Coach Decker has completed 4 marathons, more than a 1/2 dozen half marathons, and dozens of other races of varying distances.

 

Mike Liguori

Football

Coach Mike Liguori has over 15 years experience as a football player and coach. Coach Liguori played at both the high school and college levels, spending four years playing for Menlo College in Atherton.  During his service in the military, Coach Liguori was given the opportunity to serve as a head coach and player, leading his teams to successful championship seasons in consecutive years.  

Sherrell Lewis

Basketball

Coach Lewis has over ten successful years of experience as a basketball player and recent experiences as a coach. Her outlook as a coach is to provide an atmosphere filled with knowledge, discipline, great sportsmanship, and hard work, which will result in players performing to the best of their abilities on and off the court.
Adam King

Soccer

Mr. King has over a decade of experience playing soccer, both in his youth and at San Francisco State University. Currently he plays in multiple leagues and tournaments all over San Francisco. His career highlights include four years of experience as FIFA referee and coaching high school water polo in San Diego. Mr. King is excited to join the Wornick soccer program and help our players develop their skills and love for the game of soccer.
Phil McKenney

Tennis

Phil McKenney is a Professional Tennis Registry-certified pro and a double-goal coach certified through the Positive Coaching Alliance. He currently serves as the head tennis coach for both the boys and girls teams at Wornick and Sequoia High School. After completing his collegiate career, Coach McKenney began instructing tennis players as young as three years of age up to adult seniors. His career highlights include serving as a tennis professional for the Pacific Athletic Club, coaching players at multiple schools in the Sacramento public school system, and providing year round tennis opportunities through the McKenney Tennis Academy (MTA). His philosophy is to be your best in whatever you do in life. He believes a positive team experience can yield invaluable life lessons and friendships.
Coach Serero

Soccer

Coach Serero has coaching and referee certifications through the CYSA and the USSF, and recently ran soccer programing though the Boys and Girls Club of America. Coach Serero’s achievements as a player include, participating as a member of two Wornick soccer championship teams, is a CYSA state cup finalist, started for the Maccabi USA team, and currently playing for Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont. Coach Serero is excited to once again be a part of RAMS Soccer.
