Wornick News

  • Dr. Gereboff’s Head Notes - Values in Action: Welcome to Wornick  When a prospective parent or a guest walks into one of our classrooms, an adorable student stops his/her work and walks over to the guest. S/he looks him in the eye, sticks out his/her hand offering a handshake, and says “Welcome to Grade “x”, my name is “y”, and we are working on our “z” right now.”...

We'll have no-host vegetarian food trucks available, and PTO is providing snacks and an out of this world Ice Cream Sundae Bar! Tickets per person are $10, or a family of 2 adults with 2 or more (K-8) children is just $38. Children in pre-school or younger are free.

There are also amazing raffle prizes available (iPad airs with wifi, a Safari West excursion with an overnight stay, a PS4, Taylor Swift tickets and so much more!).

Registration for admission and raffle tickets can all be found at http://wornickpto.org/w/event/wornickfest-2015-2/. Stay tuned for an opportunity to earn any needed Chai Hours, or email pto@wornickjds.org to see how you can help!

  • Library Closing Up for the Summer!
Parents and caregivers, this is the last week your students can check out books from the school library. Please help them find and return all of their library books. Check backpacks for overdue notices that the librarian has sent to their classrooms.

  • Summer Daze Academy
Summer Daze registration is open! Ms. Wagshul will be leading this 18th year of camp which takes place the first two weeks after school lets out. Click here for registration forms and more information.

  • Lost and Found
Once again there is an amazing amount of good taste and expensive label clothing filling our lost and found. The most gorgeous hot pick Nike jacket, Banana Republic black down vest, ETC Shrek sweatshirt, leather black jacket, lunch boxes that really smell and oh so much more. Please go look at the lost and found at the far end of the first floor as none of these items have names in them.

Seen @Wornick this week: Our 5th graders went on their outdoor ed trip to the Marin Headlands, 7th graders working on the Yearbook, and our 1st graders led Thursday morning tefillah and sang and performed a play before they received their first siddurim at the annual Kabbalat HaSiddur.
