As we engage the world with our students and our children we see things that we may have missed in our own childhood and we rediscover things that we have long forgotten...

  • Principal's Proud Moments
Over the past month, students in the seventh grade have diligently been writing original poetry. Last Monday, students performed their poems in a Poetry Slam, a contest where students perform their poems with feelings and dramatic flare...

The school relies on your support to maintain the personalized education your children receive. We are grateful for your dedication.

  • Wornick Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you so much for all the support around the book fair this week. We had a fabulous week of sales and the excitement around literacy was awesome! If you didn't happen to find a book you were looking for, please check out our Online Book Fair for hundreds more titles. The Wornick Scholastic ONLINE Book Fair runs through 3/10/15.

Order books and they will be shipped for free to school.

  • Lunch Box Reminder
Please remember not to send any GLASS containers to school with your children. This includes water bottles and "tupperware" style. The students are so eager to play at lunch/snack they often toss their bags onto the cement. This makes for a dangerous scenario the next time they open them.

  • 7th Grade Tzedakah Project
Our 7th Graders are selling Shabbat Candles every Friday before & after Kabbalat Shabbat! They are $5 for a pair of two candles. They will be individually packaged and very nice easy way to get a pair of candles for the night. There are five different colors! (not just the color in the picture).

  • Registration for the JDS5K is OPEN!
This year's race is on Sunday, May 3. The fee is $20, but this does not come without some new additions to the race. By popular demand, each registered participant will receive an official JDS5K tee shirt and have the opportunity to enjoy post race coffee and munchies. Click here for the registration link, and please "like" our Facebook page. GO RAMS!

  • She is Beautiful 5K Run
Wornick mothers and daughters, the She Is Beautiful 5K Run is back on Sunday, March 22 in Santa Cruz! Sign up today, notify Mr. Scatena that you will be participating, and he'll place you on the list.

Chai Excellence Fund

  • JFCS Food bins in the RCWJDS lobby
Winter is a good time to remember those less fortunate than us. Jewish Family and Children's Services and Second Harvest Food Bank work together to bring donated food to those in need. If you are so inclined, please feel free to drop off non-perishables in the bin in the lobby.
