  • Dr. Gereboff’s Head Notes - Enduring Understandings

Some assume that the accrediting organizations set the curriculum. Neither assumption is correct...

Wornick To-Do List

Learn from a panel of early childhood experts about what your child needs — and doesn’t need — in order to succeed in Kindergarten.

  • Applications to Wornick for 2015-2016
are now available on the Wornick website! Siblings of current Wornick students will receive priority scheduling for Kindergarten screening dates if their applications are received by January 1, 2015. The deadline for all application materials is January 16, 2015 for elementary school and January 23 for middle school.

  • Applications for Tuition Assistance
for the next school year will be due on February 9, 2015. We strongly suggest that you make an appointment with your tax preparer and plan to complete your 2014 tax return so that it can be submitted to FAST in advance of the February 10 deadline. The application will be available beginning December 1. Applications submitted after the deadline will receive secondary consideration.

  • Great Opportunity
Want to help raise money for the school to help your students? Do you have 15 minutes a week to spur your class on to achieving 100% participation in the Chai Excellence campaign and earning a special perk? Want to earn some Chai hours? Want to be finished with this job by winter break? Then WE NEED YOU!

Plans are being formulated and Chai Excellence Fund Chair, Dalia Zatlin, will be announcing the program after the High Holidays, but please contact Ruthellen Harris, Interim Director of Development at rharris@wornickjds.org or 650-378-2621 for more information on how you can help.

  • Who Do You Know???
We are looking for speakers and sponsors for Feast Your Mind 2015. The event will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Our goal is to find 15 exciting, dynamic special guests and we are over halfway there. Who do you know from the different places in your life - let’s talk about if they would be appropriate speakers.

Also, a large part of the success of the event depends on sponsorships from businesses and individuals. Sponsorships begin at $250 so this is affordable for most businesses to get exposure to the Wornick community and a variety of perks depending on their sponsorship level. For more information, contact Ruthellen Harris, Interim Director of Development at rharris@wornickjds.org or 650-378-2621.

  • Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education
Our school has benefited from the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE). They have funded two major initiatives at Wornick - the elementary grades iPads and the middle school E2K engineering program. For more information, please see the attached ad or visit http://www.thecije.org/.

  • Added After-School Chugim!
