In lieu of Friday's Pupils' Express
There will be no edition of Pupils' Express today. However, this email will include details of events this past week, as well as next week.

In an exciting well played game our Wornick Rams soccer team drew 1-1 with Woodside Priory. This was an all important league game and with one make-up still to play the Rams are very well positioned on the league table.
Yesterdays game was highlighted by excellent defensive plays a number of near misses on attack particularly in the second half and outstanding parental support which is greatly appreciated.
1. Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), one of our accrediting agencies, will be visiting the school on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of next week. (May 6, 7 and 8).
The WASC team will present their recommendation to the school community at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 8. (School will finish at 2:45 pm on Tuesday.)
2. Open House for kindergarten – 8 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9 from 8:30 am through 9:30 am. Refreshments will be served in the foyer from 9:00 am.
3. Grandparents/V.I.P. Day is on Thursday, May 10 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Please remind all those who are attending. We are expecting over one hundred people. Note: We have not received RSVPs from several VIPs. Please make sure that your child’s special people have notified us.
4. The seventh grade Tzdakah/Philanthropy presentations will be delivered on the same day (May 10) from 1:30 pm, in the multi-purpose room. All are welcome to attend this very moving and worthwhile presentation.
OUR RCWJDS FAMILY
Many thanks to 1st grade parent, Dana Spanger, who prepared a delicious lunch (on behalf of the P.T.O.) for the faculty at last week’s in-service. The food was greatly appreciated and heartily consumed.
Our book fair last week was a very fine success, in no small measure, due to the tireless work of conveners, 1st grade parents, Dominique Rhodes and Cheryl Selman and all who assisted them. Many thanks to you all.
This week’s fifth grade Torah readers maintained the very impressive standards of their classmates. Congratulations to: Jacob Olian, Rachel Byrd and Maddy Steckley on their wonderful readings.
Fifth grader, Natalie Spievack was a top scoring student in the Johns Hopkins Talent Search SCAT test, and will receive an award for outstanding academic achievement at the
This Sunday, at school, from 11:00 am, Danya Naroditsky will play chess against seven opponents simultaneously. This opportunity was kindly offered by Danya at the Spring Celebration.
Last weekend, Danya became the first fifth grader to win the California High Scholastic Chess Championships. Congratulations, Danya, and may the good Lord have mercy on your opponents on Sunday.

Our Lag Ba’Omer celebration, on Friday, will begin with a Kabbalat Shabbat for grades 1-5 (at 1:45 pm) and will continue with a performance by second grade, at 2:00 pm.
Kindergarten will view the performance on Thursday morning at 9:30 am.
