KABBALAT SHABBAT THIS FRIDAY

 

Dear Parents,

Our Lag Ba’Omer celebration, on Friday, will begin with a Kabbalat Shabbat for grades 1-5 (at 1:45 pm) and will continue with a performance by second grade, at 2:00 pm. 

Kindergarten will view the performance on Thursday morning at 9:30 am.

You are all cordially invited to attend.

Support Group for Families Dealing With Serious Mental Illness- Palo Alto

Get the support you need to cope with a loved one’s serious mental illness. Symptoms, medications, relapse and recovery will be discussed. Fourth Tuesday of every month from 7 – 9 pm, May 22 and June 26, 2007 at 200 Channing Avenue, Palo Alto. No charge. Open House at New San Mateo JFCS – Eleanor Haas Koshland Center- San Mateo

Sliding-Fee, Nonsectarian Programs Open to All

 

Coping with Chronic Illness and Disabilities- Palo Alto

An educational support group for adults ages 18 – 60 who are coping with issues related to chronic illness and disabilities. Discuss resources, share information, and gain insight on managing feelings associated with the challenges of living with and accepting a disability. Second Wednesday of every month, 1:30 – 3 p.m. ongoing at 200 Channing Avenue, Palo Alto with John Bisenius, LCSW. $5 donation requested. Pre-registration and interview required. Support Group for Parents of Children Living with Juvenile Diabetes – Palo Alto

This 6-session support group offers parents with diabetic children a chance to meet and talk about family life with a diabetic child.  Meets second Tuesday of each month, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. at 200 Channing Avenue, Palo Alto with Erica Pelavin, LCSW, PhD.  $10 per session  Don Sussman, 650-688-3046 or DonS@jfcs.org. Living With Autism: A Support Group for Parents and Caregivers – San Mateo

This 6-month support group is for parents and caregivers who have a child with autism, Asperger's Syndrome, or a pervasive developmental disorder.  Meets the third Wednesday of the month from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at JFCS, 2001 Winward Way, San Mateo.  $10/session for 6 session group.  Dr. Miranda Gabriel, 650-688-3028 or MirandaG@jfcs.org. Bully Proof Your Community – Become Part of the Peaceful Solution – San Mateo

Help to brighten the day of a senior with your friendly visit. Volunteers needed to visit frail seniors living in board and care homes or assisted living facilities for one hour per week.
