Dear 4B Parents & Students~

In Social Studies, students should now have all 6 of their explorer's journal entries completed and edited for correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. Most students have begun rewriting the final draft of their explorer's journal.  Some of this writing may need to be assigned for homework this week, as final draft work needs to be completed this Thursday.  The binding of the journal will be worked on in class this Friday.

We are moving into the California Mission system this week. Students will be writing a research paper in class, about one of the CA Missions, and present their findings to the class.  More on that this week.
A field trip to Mission Dolores along with a walking tour of a Jewish neighborhood/section of San Francisco is being organized now,.,.it's tentatively scheduled for the end of March.

The 'City of Ember' out of class reading should be completed.  A schedule to present the student projects will be created soon.

The book, 'Nothing Here But Stones' is in progress.  Students should be nearing chapter 12.  Each student is recording the specific actions and physical characteristics of one character in the book.  Using the individual actions of their character, students will interpret what those actions tell them about the personality of their character.

The 4th graders have begun their Spring Celebration benefit project. All work will be done in class.

The Invention Convention project is in it's final phase.
All remaining work needs to be completed at home.  It's due back in school by February 27th.

Have a great 3 day week-end everybody.
If you have a hankering to try some President's Day crossword puzzles and word searches, have a lQQk at the websites below.
