Havdallah Leaders 6/2 (last roundup!!), Studying Kashrut in class, and Yom Yerushalayim on Monday 6/2.
Hi Parents,
Hard to believe, but we are coming up to our last Monday of the school
year. The havdalah leaders this Monday (6/2) are:
Ethan, Leora, Shayna, Becky, Dylan and Max.
On a separate note, our current unit of study in Judaica is Kashrut, part
of the 4th grade Judaica curriculum. The purpose of our study is for the
students to understand the basis and logic of 'kosher.' It is not intended
to change anyone's lifestyle; the school (and I) respect each family's
personal choices, and the lessons are designed to promote understanding,
thought, and discussion of this important topic.
Parents are welcome to come to class on Monday (4A has Judaica at 2:30 and
4B has Judaica at 1:45) to share ancedotes, stories, or photo's from
visits to Israel, from having lived there, or from having served in the
military. Two parents have responded that they will come, and "there's
always room for more"! Please let me know via e-mail or call me at home
650-857-0530 so I can plan accordingly.
Shabbat Shalom!
Morah Kaylee
