Gesher
"Gesher" is the Hebrew word for bridge and is our After School program. As Wornick's transition from school to home, Gesher provides a safe, social environment for students who stay after school.
Gesher begins at 3:30pm Monday through Thursday and at 3:00pm on Friday until 6:00pm.
Children are given an opportunity to do their homework in a quiet atmosphere, play outdoors (weather permitting), participate in the school's after-school enrichment activities (including classes at the PJCC) and to play games in the Gesher room when their homework is completed.
A sample of classes offered during Gesher include: Private Music lessons (through Art & Soul Music), Drama, ATOM Science Club, Cooking, Chess, Choir, Jiu Jitsu, Soccer and Yoga. There is no charge for gesher for students staying after school to attend these classes.
Gesher is available on a contract or on a drop-in basis.
Before School (Gesher) Program
As a service to parents, children who arrive early to school may join their peers for morning Gesher. This starts at 7:30 am, and there is no fee for this care. We ask that if your child is on school grounds before 8:30 am, you either stay with your child or send him/her to Gesher. We do not allow students to be unsupervised on campus in the early morning hours
