Accelerated, Support and Enrichment Programs
We offer a number of accelerated programs for our students. Our accelerated programs are designed for those students who have reached mastery of basic levels and want additional educational challenges and stimuli. The program enriches the existing curriculum to the specific level of the student.
Students with fluency in Hebrew are placed in separate groupings to continue their education in Hebrew reading and writing. Literary Reading Circles in our Lower School allow students to read and discuss literature with peers on similar reading levels. Our fourth grade has an accelerated pilot program for Math and English.

Wornick has a full time Learning Resource Specialist who enters classrooms to work with teachers and students in creating new learning environments that support individual student learning. Children with specific challenges are helped through individual and group support in the subjects where needed, from both their teachers and the Learning Resource Specialist. The Student Study Team, made up of the Learning Resource Specialist, the Head of School, the Head of Middle School and General Studies and the Head of Judaic Studies, meets weekly to make sure the Wornick learning environment remains optimal. The Learning Resource Specialist works with staff, parents and outside specialists to provide feedback to parents, professional support for teachers and create modifications and recommendations for students.
Wornick's Guidance Counselor works with small groups in classes from 3rd to 8th grade to develop articulation about emotions and challenges, and to navigate through social issues and pressures. Our Guidance Counselor supports staff and presents workshops to parents on developmental stages and concerns.
Our Parent Teacher Organization hosts a wide variety of school-wide programs in support of the arts, creatie programs and parent education. Some recent programs include Lawrence Livermore Labs, Taiko drummers, Wildlife Associates, puppeteers, members of the San Jose Earthquakes soccer team, and children's authors and illustrators.
