August 28, 2015 @Wornick
This Week
Welcome back! Wornick is in full swing and we are so happy to be together again. Middle School had a chance to bond and play at the challenge course on Wednesday, while our younger students became acquainted with their new teachers and classrooms. Kindergarteners learned a new alphabet dance, first grade considered their hopes and dreams for this year, and second grade worked on a "math about me" project. The third grade wrote personal goals, and connected them like a puzzle to create classroom goals. Fourth grade completed a school-wide scavenger hunt. Fifth grade tackled the first of many STEM challenges, sixth graders picked out their new lockers, and seventh grade considered all the different kinds of scientific study. Eighth grade scientists watched Ms. Haire blow up a gummy bear, and we all had our hair checked for lice. Our new Judaic Studies Principal Mr. Abramovitz led the first all-school T'filah on Thursday, which included a Bar Mitzvah!

Words of Wisdom

Dr. Gereboff's Head Notes
Many people think that teaching is a pretty “easy” job – afterall teachers only work ten months of the year. The reality is that most teachers don’t turn off their work during the summer, and our Wornick teachers definitely “work” throughout the summer.  Some teachers were in and out of our building during the summer, others participated in professional growth opportunities.  Read More
