New Year, New Name and New Logo!
You may have noticed that the @Wornick newsletter is now titled Wornick Weekly and we have added our new logo specifically designed to honor our 30th year. Thanks to your feedback, and as part of our mission to reduce the amount of emails coming your way, we have combined our prior Monday Memo and @Wornick into a single newsletter, which will go at at the beginning of each school week. If you have submissions for Wornick Weekly, please email them to Martha Kokes at mkokes@wornickjds.org no later than noon the previous Thursday.
Wornick is turning 30 years old this year!
We hope that you will join us in celebrating all that our school has accomplished in the last three decades. We have been working hard on planning a variety of events to commemorate this milestone.
- September 23: Community Shabbat and Birthday Celebration. Kick off our 30th birthday with Shabbat dinner, cake and a rousing chorus of “Happy Birthday”!
- November 6: Tikkun Olam Event. Wornick joins together to give back to the broader community as we reaffirm the spirit of Tikkun Olam.
- February 25: Wornick 30th Celebration. It’s our big birthday bash! Celebrate with us as we toast both our past and future achievements.
- April Mural Painting Days and Unveiling: Our celebration culminates with the unveiling of our new community mural on April 30, lovingly created by our Wornick friends and families.
Hot Lunch is Open!
The Hot Lunch website is open for business! Hot Lunch service begins on Monday, August 29. If you are a returning family, please log in to http://wornickpto.org/hotlunch/ and select your preferred days. New families and for those with questions, please email Pam Bodin at pbodin@wornickjds.org to sign up and/or help volunteer.

Please remember to log in to your Veracross parent portal to review and approve the parent forms and submit any changes to your account.

Common Ground Speaker Series
Wornick is a proud member school of the Common Ground Speaker Series. This organization presents distinguished speakers in education, parenting and health at venues on the San Francisco Peninsula. Parents, faculty and staff of member schools attend Common Ground events free of charge See the flyer for scheduled events for the 2016-2017 academic year.
