| | | | | This Week Kindergarteners are painting beautiful rocks to leave in public places, where people will find them and read their message: "you are loved." It's part of the Abundant Love Project, which aims to help others find encouragement and solace by spreading the message of love. First graders in Mr. Fein's class presented their design challenges on Thursday. They built and shared prototypes of an invention that is intended to solve a problem. Among their creations: a machine that adds vitamins to cupcakes, a skateboard with footholders and brakes, and a health care robot that scans people for ailments. Second grade was excited to welcome new student Tyler S. who has joined Ms. Mahoney's class! Eighth grade English students are studying magazine articles, learning to distinguish between hard news and feature writing, in preparation to create their own magazines. In Judaic Studies they're researching social issues in modern day Israel, getting ready for their big trip to Israel next month. In case you're wondering how much longer until the trip, they are counting down the days on the white board in Ms. Reese's room. | | Announcements Online Re-enrollment This year for the first time, we will be processing our enrollment contracts online, utilizing Veracross, our school information system. At the end of this month you will be receiving an email notification to begin the re‑enrollment process for the 2016-2017 school year. We respectfully request that you adhere to the re‑enrollment deadline of March 8, 2016. Communicating with the Wornick Office When emailing with absences, appointments etc. we would like to request that families use info@wornickjds.com to communicate with staff. A Light of Nations by Joel A.: One Coat Can Change the World Sometimes, the most powerful mitzvot come from the smallest of messengers.
