This Week
Kindergarten is all about getting ready for their Harvest festival next week. This week they studied the Native American Green Corn Festival, made bead accessories and shirts or vests to wear to their Festival. And by the way, check out their Kachina Dolls in the glass display case across from Dr. Gereboff's office. They are beautiful!

Third graders are wrapping up their crayfish study. Fourth grade completed the research for their Native Californian reports, and now they're getting to work on the fun stuff---writing. They also started reading The City of Ember this week.

This past week, fifth graders starting leading 3-5 t'fillah and eighth graders starting lifting and dressing the Torah in Thursday t'fillah. Hebrew students in fifth grade were also at the PJCC on Wednesday, buying snacks at the Farmer's Market and cafe and conversing in Hebrew as they tried out some of their new Hebrew vocabulary about shopping and money.

Seventh graders headed over to work in the PJCC's Justice Garden as part of their Tzedakah Project.

In Middle School, the eighth grade scientists are learning about nutrition labels, and conducting lab experiments to determine the nutritional value of different foods.

Words of Wisdom

Dr. Gereboff's Head Notes
This past week, I was sitting with one of our first grade students who showed me his new Mindset books. The process that he engaged in as he shared fascinated me.  He thumbed silently back and forth through the book.  He would hold different pages apart with his fingers, flipping through all the pages several times.  Read More
