This Week
What a Wornick week this was! And by that, we mean there was something exciting happening at every turn.

Third graders braved the rain on Monday for a wet and salty field trip to the Moss Beach Tide Pools to study marine biology. Back at school, they crafted Haiku poems about what they observed on the beach. They finished up the week by welcoming their new crayfish to the classrooms, which will be observed closely to learn about their structures, life cycle and living habits.
Second graders returned from their first field trip to the Saratoga History museum a little tired, but with a fresh perspective as they kick off their family history unit.
Seventh graders were in their Togas today to celebrate the end of their Greek history unit. After several hard-fought debates between Athens and Sparta, everyone feasted on spanakopita and Greek yogurt and olives.
Eighth grade Hebrew students completed a cooking project--with the recipe in Hebrew--and then chowed down to a tasty waffle breakfast.
Last but not least, the PTO put on a beautiful book fair that included a very popular Kendama demonstration Wednesday night. Before Kabbalat Shabbat on Friday, they had dismantled the whole book fair and the Ulam Gadol was neat and clean. Many, many thanks to our wonderful volunteers -- especially book fair chair Katie Wolff.

Grab your Yarmulka, it's time for Chanukkah
Chanukkah party planning is underway!  We are starting a new tradition!  Instead of one school-wide party, this year, PTO has decided to bring the intimacy of Chanukkah to you via grade specific holiday parties - all happening on Sunday, December 6th.  Please contact your room parents to help get involved!

  • Mazel Tov to Max S. on becoming a Bar Mitzvah this weekend!
