This Week
Our first full week in a long time was very bust indeed!

Middle Schoolers are thinking about high school. Several of our 8th graders have been visiting high schools this week, and they heard a lunch time presentation from the Jewish Community High School on Thursday. The representative said she had never heard so many thoughtful questions from a group of 8th graders.
Fifth grade "Colonists" completed their tiring journey across the Atlantic--except for the ones who fell overboard. They are learning about the hardships the Pilgrims endured on their way to the New World in 1620.
In music class, Kindergarteners are learning a new song about Johnny and the hammer, and their voices are filling the halls! They are also practicing a puppet show in Hebrew for next week's Kabbalat Shabbat.

Wednesday Hot Lunch making a change!
The kids, or I should say many of them, LOVE the nuggets and just like hot dogs.  We would like to start having CHICKEN NUGGETS EVERY WEDNESDAY.  Rachel will still make SOME hot dogs/chicken dogs for the kids that only want that.  Please email me (pbodin@wornickjds.org) if you think your child will prefer hot dogs so that we make enough.  We also offer sauteed tofu on this meat day for anyone who would like that.

Hot Lunch
Want to sometimes come and serve hot lunch? Email Pam at pbodin@wornickjds.org and get put on the subs list for when a dedicated server needs a day off.  You will then get an email when we have a need. If you can take the day just reply all, and let us know you claim it.

Grab your Yarmulka, it's time for Chanukkah
Chanukkah party planning is underway!  We are starting a new tradition!  Instead of one school-wide party, this year, PTO has decided to bring the intimacy of Chanukkah to you via grade specific holiday parties - all happening on Sunday, December 6th.  Please contact your room parents to help get involved!

Todah and Mazel Tov

Words of Wisdom

Dr. Gereboff's Head Notes
On Monday, twelve of our recent graduates surprised us by showing up for lunch.  These ninth graders who are now dispersed through different schools were so thoughtful and articulate.  They bubbled over with enthusiasm and with their successes that they wanted to share with us.  Read More
