About RCWJDS

Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a K-8 school, founded in 1986. Located on the 12-acre North Peninsula Jewish Campus in Foster City, the school's purpose is to provide general and Judaic academic excellence through integrated studies and creative arts.

Our program places a high value on personal qualities and abilities. These include intellectual, social, emotional, physical as well as spiritual growth. We strive to weave into the curriculum an understanding and appreciation of the world's cultural diversity, the importance of integrity, problem-solving, patience, curiosity, and using good judgment.

Wornick Jewish Day School seeks to offer each student the opportunities and support needed to meet his or her potential. Our underlying vision is to provide students with outstanding academics in a nurturing environment.

The Wornick community reaffirms its acceptance of the Torah and its teachings as framework for life. We acknowledge our associated commitment to the following values:
Trust and Tolerance-- actions and expectations of honesty and integrity in all matters and acceptance of the fact that differences in beliefs concerning various issues are both reasonable and potentially constructive.

Openness -- recognition that learning, teaching, parenting , religious and socioeconomic resources and styles can vary.

Respect and responsibility
-- for both ourselves and others through the promotion of human equality and freedom, refraining from discriminatory action and comments and caring for public and private property.

Academic Excellence - in both secular subjects and Judaic, coupled with joy in learning.

Honesty, Humility and Humor -- not feeling unduly self important, being able to laugh at ourselves and together with (not at) other persons.

Mission

Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is dedicated to providing an outstanding Jewish and secular education to all students. Our programs promote growth and development in the social, physical, intellectual, ethical, and spiritual domains. We seek to develop and strengthen the Jewish identity of our students, as well as encourage their commitment to the community at large.

The creation of the State of Israel is one of the seminal events in Jewish history. Recognizing the significance of the State and its national institutions, we seek to instill in our students an attachment to the State of Israel and its people as well as a sense of responsibility for their welfare.
